Overview

Cancer Care was established on 16th October 1997 with Mrs. Anila Kothari as the Chairperson Since become registered trust on feb.24 1998. It has 80 members who are selflessly engaged in supporting the cancer patients.

The aim of cancer care is to inculcate a positive attitude towards life in a despondent patient and the members of his family who are shattered once the diagnosis of cancer is revealed to them.

Mrs. Anila Kothari, Mrs. Vimla Jain, Mrs. Asha Kala, Mrs. Sunita Kala, Mrs. Meena Surana, Smt. Sheela Kothari, Smt. Neepam Kothari and other active members Mrs. Vimla Tholia, Smt. Gyan Gehlot, Smt. Shakuntala Golechha, Smt. Ratanmala Jain, Smt. Uma Bhargava, Smt. Damyanti Solanki, Smt. Usha Narnoli, Smt. Smita Shah, Smt. Asha Pangaria and Shri Shanti Lal Duggar leave no stone unturned in providing moral support to the cancer patients

Object Of Cancer Care

1 Cancer care has actively participated in the cancer awareness and early detection camps. Slide shows and lecturers are held and posters are exhibited during these camps. More then 500 camps have been organized up to January 2009.

2 The residents of Jaipur look forward to “Cancer Fair” it is an event organized annually by Cancer care for a humane cause. The fun and frolic of mega fair is not only an entertainment because the collection of each fair to brings smile to an ailing person by providing him best treatment, expensive medicine, blood etc.

3. The diligence of cancer care has emerged as a 35 bedded general ward in the premises of this hospital.

4. The blood bank of Bhagwan Mahaveer cancer Hospital is the result of relentless efforts of Mrs. Anila Kothari and her team and of course, Dorabji Tata Memorial trust, Mumbai.

5. Blood donation camps are organized for the help of the needy patients.

6. Kitchen & Canteen services are provided for the patients and their attendants at a very nominal rate. Patients are given free food, milk, biscuits and medicine by Cancer Care.

7. “Art of Living” a basic course to bring out the optimism and positive thinking was held in association with Cancer care.

8 The patient are considered part of the BMCHRC family. As a token of respect, affection and concern Cancer care organizes Survivors Day & rose Day annually and Bhajan Programme weekly.

9. Counseling to the patients and their attendants.

10 for child patients a play room and library have been started in the hospital.

11. STD & Photocopy booth is also run by Cancer Care.

12 For the breast cancer patients prosthesis is supplied. They are given proper counseling too by the volunteers

13. Apart from all this moral support to needy patients are also given and financial support in the form of medicines and hospital service.

14. Many celebrities, eminent personalities and donors join hand to make this event a success.
