The Department is executing the mission which is in maxim "Prevention is better than cure" It deals with various types of preventive health checks.
Cancer detection and awareness camps were planned with the aim to diagnose cancer in early stage, to educate and inform general public about cancer, and to promote Primary Prevention Strategies in general population. Based on the pattern of the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital, Mumbai; the department of preventive oncology is equipped with a Mobile unit for creating cancer awareness and early cancer detection in rural and slum areas. Patients diagnosed with Cancer at the camps receive free hospital services during their treatment.
We also organize some campaigns for youth which have informative and preventive functions.
