The department of Medical Oncology is engaged in active treatment of patients suffering from acute lymphoblast leukaemia, acute myeloid leukaemia, Hodgkin’s and Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, multiple myeloma, breast cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, colorectal cancer, hepato-biliary and pancreatic cancer, esophageal cancer, prostatic, urinary bladder, and kidney cancer.

The department, in collaboration with radiation oncology, is engaged in concurrent chemo radiation of head and nick cancer, cervix cancer, lung cancer etc.
The Medical oncology department is also engaged in the treatment of hematological disorders such as myelodysplasia, aplastic anemia etc. With the establishment of state-of-the-art blood bank facilities we are soon going to start high-dose chemotherapy with autologous bone marrow transplantation in cases of leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and solid tumours with poor prognosis.
Now patients are being given chemotherapy in a single day schedule which is convenient to the patient as well as hospital. Our day care centre has nine beds and is opened from 9.00 am till 5.00 p.m.

Dr. Ajay Bapna did his MBBS and MD (Medicine) from S.M.S. Medical College, Jaipur he received training in Medical Oncology, Paediatric Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation for three years at prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai (1995 - 1997).
He joined BMCHRC, Jaipur on 1st January,1998 and started the functioning of Department of Medical Oncology at BMCHRC, Jaipur. Presently he is working as Senior Consultant and Co-ordinator of Medical Oncology Department.

Dr. Naresh Somani is Senior Medical Oncologist. He did D.M. in Medical Oncology from Cancer Institute, Chennai. He also received training from Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia in Medical Oncology, Bone Marro Transplant & Clinical Trials. He is working in BMCHRC from 1999. He had more than 10 National & International publication and presentation.
His original paper on Hodgkin's Lymphoma was selected for young scientist section of conference "ISMPO". He success fully organised International seminar in Advances in Oncology in year October,2005 and 2nd Annual Conference of BMCHRC in October,2006. He also organised 16th Indian Co-Operative Oncology Network meet in March,2007. Dr. Naresh Somani is instrumental in success and growth of department of Medical Oncology at BMCHRC, Jaipur. He is Principal Investigator for more than 15 International Phase I, II nd III Trials at BMCHRC. He also published a book "Cancer Upchar" for help of patients.

Dr. Pawan Agarwal, MD is working as consultant Medical Oncologist at here from seven years. He is specialised from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and worked in Leukemia and Lymphoma Clinic, Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit, Breast Clinic and gained ample experience for management of Adult and children cancer. He is 20 papers published in various journal.

Dr. Lalit Mohan Sharma is consultant hematologist and Medical oncologist. He has done his clinical hematology training from department of hematology AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Science) New Delhi. He is trained in Medical oncology and stem cell transplations from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He has special interest in treatment of Hematolymhphoid cancers including Childhood ALL. He is involved as principal investigater in various phase 2 and phase 3 & international clinical trials.He is actively involved in various outreach and educational activities for general practitioners nurses and other practitioners staff.He has various academic and publiciations.
