With this news letter, we wish to convey our new year greetings. We also resolve to consecrate our efforts to improve the facilities at Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital and Research Center, Jaipur till it is counted amongst the best Cancer treatment centers of the country

NEW INPATIENT WARD COMPLEX :

One 8 Storied inpatient complex of 10,000 sqft each floor will be added to this hospital early next year. This 200bedded complex will have general to private patient suits, modern cafeteria, and other state of the art facilities. This complex will be connected to existing building on all four floors.

INSTALLATION OF PET CT :

PET CT is a tomography technique which can diagnose cancer at very early stage (metabolic diagnosis), useful in knowing the extent of disease and also to know the response of treatment. At present only 7-8 states in India have this facility and by March, 2010 we plan to start this procedure in Jaipur. AERB approval has already been received for the structure.

DIAGNOSTIC VAN WITH MAMMORGPHY AND TELE-MEDICINE FACILITY:

For early cancer detection we had “Nargis Dutt Memorial Van” and now one more van has been added with facilities like X-Ray, Ultrasonography, Pap Smear, Colposcopy, Mammography and Tele-Medicine Facility. This will facilitate early detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancers specially in women in remote areas. We urge all NGO’s and Philanthropic organizations to contact this hospital, if they wish to utilize this facility at nominal charges. I am sure after addition of above machines and techniques patients from this state will not need to go out side for any type of cancer treatment.

GAMMA CAMERA :

Gamma Camera is useful in Bone Scanning, Cardiac Stress Thallium Scan, Renal Scanning, Thyroid Scanning and scanning for Sarcoidosis. For the first time in Rajasthan we will be able to give lodine Therapy for Thyroid Cancer.
